2. Personal Interests, Attitudes and Values

What is it that motivates you to take action? What is the source of your desire to become involved in certain activities - or to avoid them? Why do you behave in the manner you do? The answers lie deep within your unique set of personal interests, attitudes and values. These powerful motivating forces within you largely affect how you behave and how others perceive you. This test is an effective tool that measures the relative prominence of six basic interests or attitudes (a way of valuing life) of individuals in the areas of:
  • Social
  • Theoretical
  • Aesthetic
  • Utilitarian
  • Individualistic
  • Traditional
Attitudes help to initiate one's behavior and are sometimes called the hidden motivators because they are not always readily observed. It is the purpose of this test to help illuminate and amplify some of those motivating factors and to build on the strengths that each person brings to the work environment. Based on your choices, this test ranks your relative passion for each of the above six attitudes. Your top two and sometimes three attitudes cause you to move into action. You will feel positive when talking, listening or doing activities that satisfy your top attitudes.

3. Career Planning Insight

This report analyzes behavioral style; that is, a person's manner of doing things. Research shows that successful leaders are those who understand themselves, their strengths as well as their weaknesses. They can develop strategies to meet the demands of their environment. A person's behavior is a necessary and integral part of who they are and how they relate to others. In most cases much of our behavior comes from "nature" (inherent), and much comes from "nurture" (our upbringing). It is the universal language of "how we act," or our observable human behavior. In this report we are measuring four dimensions of normal behavior. They are:
  • How you respond to problems and challenges.
  • How you influence others to your point of view.
  • How you respond to the pace of the environment.
  • How you respond to rules and procedures set by others.

4. WORKPLACE MOTIVATORS

Why do employees sell, manage, consult, or service customers and clients the way they do? What prompts their enthusiastic responses - a happy customer, a big sales contract landed, a tough problem solved? What can you do to capture their enthusiasm and leverage their unique talents? The answers to these questions are all based on values. The Workplace Motivators report identifies six different values categories. These categories represent motivators that are shared by corporations, non-profit organizations, associations, education and government agencies. The textual content of the Workplace Motivators report is based on robust statistical analysis, real-time and virtual focus group input, and a data base of tens of thousands of people. Identifying the values drives of individuals, teams, and organizations reduces conflicts, increases talent retention, improves efficiency and productivity, and energizes any group working together toward common goals. The benefits include reduced turnover, enormous cost savings, and increased satisfaction of internal/external stakeholders.
